When I was pregnant with Jane I wanted a steam mop to save my prego belly from draggin on the floor when I hand mopped. Kelby remembered all of this whining and graciously bought me this mop for my birthday.
After the first use I questioned the effectiveness, cleanliness of the mop.
Today Kelby and I did our own very scientific test to check how clean this mop is actually getting our floor. We call our method the mop and swipe. Kelby mopped half of the floor with the 'shark' and I hand washed the other half with some hot soapy water and an old sock. After we mopped I sat on the floor with two clean old white socks- one on each hand and simultaneously swiped the floor on either side of me 5 times. The picture below is our found results- can you guess which side is which?

My conclusion to our scientific data is that the Shark Mop should actually be called the SMEAR- but it is possible that the left over dirt could be more sanitized than the other side?...
So, I was pretty grossed out and just started rubbing both hands all over the shark mopped side to see how dirty they would get.
This picture compares my hand wiping with water and an old sock to the shark steam mop PRO!- Who looks dirtier to you?
I'm thinking old socks with hot soapy water is a lot cheaper than the Shark Pro!
Thankfully Kelby is not offended that Sharky is headed back to Target ASAP.

i am so sad. i wanted it to work. well im glad i didn't buy it for you for christmas last year. waiting on the penguin movie........
Just goes to show cheaper sometimes is better.
